In Captain America #327, Gruenwald reintroduced him as the new Captain America. Mark Gruenwald, the creator of Walker, described him as someone who embodied patriotism in a way that Captain America didn't and served as the opposite of Steve Rogers in every way possible. Walker was introduced in the comics as the supervillain Super-Patriot in Captain America #323 back in November 1986. I know that you knew it from the beginning and whatnot but just let me bring everyone up to speed and give them a history lesson as well while I am at it, alright? So, I am guessing he is going to fully embrace his rule as U.S. Now, he knows that he can’t be Captain America. So, if he even throws a pencil at someone, it’s going to go through them like butter (Did you see how he was throwing around Bucky? Holy shit!). But the man has super-soldier serum coursing through his eyes. Yeah, he’s making his own goddamn shield with some kind of an army crest embedded into it. Talking about a mid-credits scene, Walker is up to no good. But this does mean that the landscape of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has expanded significantly and an anti-Avengers squad is in the making i.e. Maybe a mention here and there in a post-credits or mid-credits scene. That said, I don’t think we are going to see much of her anymore. So, any information related to that is going to hype it up). If The Falcon and the Winter Soldier goes down this route for Julia’s version of the character, I am guessing that it might have some connections with Black Widow (Whose solo movie is going to release in a few months. and working for the formerly Soviet espionage group called Leviathan. Jackson somewhere in the future where we might get to know why her name has been erased from S.H.I.E.L.D’s history.Īccording to the comics, at one point, Fontaine became the new Madame Hydra (Which is a title that has been held by many characters) and was revealed to be a Russian mole recruited into S.H.I.E.L.D. So, you can expect a tête-à-tête between Louis-Dreyfus and Samuel L. In the comics, she first appeared in Strange Tales #168 back in 1968 and was featured in a silent, one-page seduction sequence in Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Unofficially though, he’ll be working for Val. She basically tells him that he can’t officially work for the Government because they have to keep up the image that they are made of people who believe in democracy and not murdering fascists. Played by the evergreen Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Val (But don’t call her that explicitly, just say it in your mind) meets up with Walker right after he’s kind of court-martialed and renders him speechless. Enter La Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine. However, the show isn’t here to show the ideal version of the world we want. Therefore, I was surprised when he was stripped off of his position as both a soldier and Captain America. They just want someone who resembles him. Technically, no one would bat an eye because, as Isaiah Bradley says, all America wants is a White man with blue eyes and blonde hair behind that shield. But I thought the US Government, like all governments around the world, is going to bring him in, recontextualise the incident in Latvia, give him a clean chit, and just let him be Captain America. ![]() Hence, yeah, it gave me immense pleasure that Sam and Bucky teamed up to beat the living shit out of him, snap his arm, and then take the shield. He has just a missile that has been pointed in one direction or the other. ![]() ![]() I was never a fan of the guy and I never thought he was in any way fit to be a hero during the tough times that are being portrayed in the series. But men, as many would know, are great at hiding who they truly are. I know that a lot of people sympathise with Walker because he initially felt like a good guy and he has lost his best friend i.e. So, the thing that everyone was waiting for finally happens.
